DATE: July 24, 1995 SUBJECT: Slide Replacement During our spring park equipment inspections, the long slide in Deerfield IV park was found to have cracks and tears in the plastic that could cause injury to young users. For safety reasons, we dismantled the slide sections. After some time and much discussion with the manufacturer, the remedy seems to be to install a full tube section rather than the "open top" design of the original slide. The Park and Recreation Commission recommended this expenditure and I am currently discussing discounts and an extended warranty with the • supplier.
