Dear Ms. Kreger:
I am writing this letter as per your request. As far as City staff is aware, Elk
River Landfill is substantially in compliance with the technical requirements
of the City's conditional use permit and license. The one exception to this is
the time period for renewal of Elk River Landfill's license has expired.
• As I have indicated previously, City staff is in the process of reviewing
proposed revisions to the language of Elk River Landfill's license and
conditional use permit. City staff would rather wait to renew your license
until after the proposed merger with SaniFill versus renewing the license
now and having to immediately do a revision. The City is also interested in
MPCA's license renewal so that we can get our language consistent with
theirs.
We do request that the Landfill renew their license as soon as practical... If
