The following are three of these tax forfeited parcels that staff is recommending the city purchases. Vicinity maps and plat maps for these three parcels are attached to this memo. 1. Parce175-130-1107 This parcel is almost entirely pond. Staff is recommending we purchase it to control drainage in this area. The purchase price for this parcel is $1,250. There is also $1,250 owed to the city on this parcel for special assessments, therefore, the county would reimburse the city. $1,250. Picking this parcel up would basically be abreak-even proposition because it is unlikely anyone else would buy it and pay the special assessment. 2. Parcel 75-428-0005 (Outlot A, Ridgewood East) Staff is recommending that the city purchase this parcel to control drainage in this area. The purchase price would be $581.95; $42.41 of this price is a sewer interceptor assessment. 3. Parcel 75-430-0170 (Lot 13, Block 1, Meadowvale Park) The Park and Recreation Commission is recommending that the city purchase this parcel as a neighborhood park. The purchase price is $16,500, which would come from park dedication fee's. The bold line on the attached vicinity map is the boundary of the park service area in this location. Park service area boundaries are defined by major obstacles such as highways, rivers, etc. This lot is rather small and expensive for a neighborhood park. However, the Park and • Recreation. If the council visits this area, you will note there are a large number of duplexes with extremely small yards and numerous kids. The other parcel in Elk River that is going tax forfeit this year is Outlot A, in the plat of Shores of Briarwood. There is a vicinity map and plat map showing this parcel attached to this memo (#4).
