SUBJECT: Request for Exemption from Lawful
Gambling License by Elk River
Zimmerman Women of Today
INTRODUCTION
The Elk River Zimmerman Women of Today have made a request for an
Exemption from Lawful Gambling License. The Exemption would allow the
Women of Today to hold a raffle on August 26, 1995, in conjunction with the
Lucky Duck Days event.
• The Women of Today have requested that the Council waive the 30 day
waiting period that is allowed for local governments in which to approve or
deny this type of license.
ACTION REQ UESTED
Council motion adopting the attached Resolution waiving the thirty day
waiting period for an exemption to lawful gambling license requested by the
Elk River Zimmerman Women of Today for August 26, 1995

A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION WAIVING THE THIRTY DAY WAITING PERIOD
FOR AN EXEMPTION TO LAWFUL GAMBLING LICENSE
REQUESTED BY THE ELK RIVER ZIMMERMAN WOMEN OF
TODAY FOR AUGUST 26, 1995
WHEREAS, the City Council approves an Exemption from Lawful
Gambling License for the Elk River Zimmerman Women of
Today; and
WHEREAS, the Exemption will allow the Women of Today to hold a raffle
in conjunction with the Luck Duck Days event to be held on
August 26, 1995; and
WHEREAS, the Elk River Zimmerman Women of Today have requested
that the City Council waive the 30 day waiting period given
• to the local unit of government in which to deny or approve
the activity.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Elk River City Council
hereby waives the 30 day waiting period for the Exemption
from Lawful Gambling License requested by the Elk River
Zimmerman Women of Today for the Lucky Duck Days event
to be held on August 26, 1995.
Passed and adopted by the Elk River City Council this 21st day of August,
1995.
