Dear Chief Zerwas:
I want to extend my appreciation for the work of Officer Brian Vita
with the students attending the Elk River Day Treatment summer
school. Officer Vita taught the junior high DARE program to students
who otherwise would not be likely to have an opportunity to receive
this instruction. They are also the students who might be most in
need of such experiences. Brian held their attention during class
and frequently came a bit early or stayed a few minutes after class
to visit with the students. His interaction with the students
provided them with afresh perception of police officers and they
were eager to have his attention.
My staff had high praise for the DARE program and for Officer Vita's
presentation and teaching style.
My sincere thanks to you avid to Officer Vita for providing this
highly appropriate experience to the day treatment students.
