SUBJECT: Request for Premises Permit Renewal
by VFW Post 5518
INTRODUCTION
The VFW Post 5518 has made application for a Premises Permit to operate
lawful charitable gambling at the Sunshine Depot in Elk River.
BACKGROUND
• The State Law requires the local government unit to pass a resolution either
approving or denying the application for a Premises Permit prior to its review
of the application.
Attached is the VFW's Expenditure of Funds report for the City of Elk River.
The VFW has met the City's requirement of spending 75% of its lawful
expenditures within the City's trade area during 1994 and through June of
1995.
ACTION REQ UESTED
Council motion to adopt the attached resolution approving a Premise Permit
for the VFW Post 5518.

A RESOLUTION FOR THE CITY OF ELK RIVER
A RESOLUTION APPROVING PREMISES PERMIT RENEWAL FOR
VFW POST 5518
WHEREAS, VFW Post 5518 has made application to the State Gambling
Control Board for a Premises Permit Renewal; and
WHEREAS, the Premises Permit will allow charitable gambling (pull-
tabs) on the premises; and
WHEREAS, the premises upon which the gambling will be conducted is
the Sunshine Depot located at 701 Main Street in the City of
Elk River.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Elk River grants its approval of a Premises Permit to VFW
• Post 5518 to operate charitable gambling at the Sunshine
Depot.
Passed and adopted by the Elk River City Council this 28th day of August,
1995.
