PROCLAMATION
CAROL MILLS WEEK
JUNE 10-16, 2001
Item 4.3.
WHEREAS,
Carol Mills began her career at Guardian Angels 36 years ago in 1965
as the Director of Nursing, became the Nursing Home Administrator in
1967, was named the Executive Director in 1982 and is retiring as the
President and Chief Executive Officer; and
WHEREAS,
during her career with Guardian Angels, Carol was instrumental in the
growth and development of Guardian Angels by providing low and moderate
income housing for seniors; and
WHEREAS,
Carol was instigative in the provision and expansion of many services for
senior residents including a senior center, a community hospice program,
Guardian Angels Home Health Care, and an adult day care; and
WHEREAS, due to Carol's leadership Guardian Angels by the Lake was created which
included a 60 unit Assisted Living building and 10 twinhomes; and
WHEREAS, Carol Mills established a reputation for excellence in older adult services on a
state wide and national level as she served on numerous board of directors.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that I, Mayor Stephanie Klinzing, call upon
all citizens to recognize the special contributions Carol Mills has made to our
community and to our senior citizens.
NOW, THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that I, Mayor Stephanie A.
Klinzing, do hereby proclaim:
June 10 - 16, 2001, as Carol Mills Week.
