Serving as the Selection Committee Council members Paul Moon, Matt ~Iestgaard and 1 interviewed six
candidates for Public ~Iorks Director. The Committee selected three for second interviews with public
works division managers, community development division managers, the finance director, and the
Committee.
Following thorough review of the applicants, the Committee is recommending Layne Otteson for this
position. Mr. Otteson is currently the Assistant Public ~Iorks Director and Assistant City Engineer for
Fridley. Prior to that position he worked for the city of Shal~opee. He has bachelor's degree in civil
engineering and is a registered engineer.
