Authorization to Hire Police Officer
This is to inform the City Council that we have completed the selection process for the
police officer position vacated by Officer Musatov. The top finalist is Joseph Gacke, who is
a police officer for the City of Cold Spring, MN.
I am, therefore, requesting authorization to make a conditional offer of employment to
Joseph contingent on him successfully passing the remainder of the background checks,
psychological and medical examinations. The anticipated start date would be July 1, 2001.
We are also awaiting final determination on whether or not another officer is leaving our
department for the Minnesota State Patrol. He should find out between June 1st and June
4e~. If he, in fact, leaves, we would like to make a conditional offer of hire to Brandon Ostlie
from Prior Lake. Brandon currently works for the State of Minnesota.
