Hiring A I'laintenance I Person
Item f 3.2.
We advertised for 2 weeks in the Star News and received 17 applications for the
Maintenance I position for the Street/Park Department. Of the 17, we interviewed 6 and
we were very pleased with the quality of these people.
The unanimous choice of the interview committee is Gary Lore. Gary is a resident of Elk
River and a member of the Elk River Fire Department. He has an excellent background in
equipment operation and we feel that he will work well with our crew.
Recommendation
Council approve hiring of Gary Lore, contingent on a driver's license and background check,
as Maintenance I, pay grade 8, step A ($12.44 per hour) with a cost of living increase on
January 1, 2002 and being eligible for a step increase on July 1, 2002.
