Matthew Jackson - Working for the Southwestern Company
BACKGROUND
Matthew Jackson has requested to sell student handbooks, educational CDs and children's
books door-to-door in the city of Elk River. He will be working for the Southwestern
Company. The Southwestern Company employs college students during the summer
months to sell the materials. The students who are selling are doing so to earn money for
college. The Police Department is in the process of completing a background check on the
applicant. The applicant has submitted the required $100 license fee.
ACTION REQUESTED
Council motion approving a transient merchant license for Matthew Jackson contingent
upon a successful police background check.
