Hot Topics) of the Month
A popular winter teen activity is the Intramural Basketball program. This league is
designed for youth in grades 9-12 and is held at the YMCA gymnasium on Sunday
evenings. Youth form their own teams and the league operates with no coaches and is
self officiated. Elk River recreation staff are on hand to supervise the program. There
are currently 56 youth enrolled in the league. This program offers teens a healthy activity
to burn off excess energy in the wintertime.
