Staff is requesting authorization to pursue defining "park" in the City ordinance.

The application of the zoning ordinance to some land uses relies on their proximity to parks. For
example, pawnshops may be no closer than 50o feet from a park. "Parks" is not defined in the City
ordinance, and could mean simply land dedicated to the City for park uses. 7t could also be interpreted as
trails, fairgrounds, or bodies of water used for recreation, etc.
