The State of Minnesota Gffice o£ Secretary of State is currently soliciting grant applications from cities,
townships, and counties specifically for automatic door openers to male polling places in Minnesota
more accessible. Lions Parr Center is a polling location and does not currently have automatic door
openers. The total cost of installing automatic doors at Lions Parr Center is ~G,520 tax included}.This
enure amount is eligible for reiinburse~nent. Staff is requesting a resolution authorizing staff to apply for
this g~tant.

A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY OF ELK RIVER TO SUBMIT

,The City Council is hereby authorized to apply for a grant from the Gffice of
the Secretary of State of Minnesota for federal funds pursuant to Title I~, Section 2G1 of the
Help America Vote Act for the sole purpose of improving access to polling places in this
city for persons with d.isabili.ties; and
E S, The City Council is authorized to enter into an agreement with the office of
the Secretary of State governing the receipt, expenditure, re~.nbursement, and reporting of
such a giant; anal
,The City Council is authorized to receive and account separately in a manner
sufficient to meet generally accepted government accounting principles sufficient to pass
federal audit; and
,The City Council is authorized to expend any sums received in the manner
indicated in the grant application and agreement with the Gffice of the Secreta~.y of State,
