SUBJECT: Transitional Housing Program

Mayor Klinzing has been the main contact for the city with the transitional housing program.
Harvest Evangelism dba Love Elk River has been the lead agency with the transitional housing
program. This organization is currently leasing the city single-family home and property directly
north of the golf course for this program. In February the Mayor provided an update to the Council
on the status on this project. There have been very few requests for service since this program
started and in this regard, the city has been very satisfied xvith how things are going.
The city expects to take ownership of the Bailey house next to the library sometime in late summer
2003. The Mayor would like to discuss the city's intentions for this property and if it would be
acceptable for this house to be used for transitional housing. If acceptable to the City Council, then
Love Elk River can begin preliminary work for leasing the house from the city sometime after Labor
Day.
