SUBJECT: Unauthorized Signs in City Right of Way
Recently at a city council meeting, I had a discussion with several council members in
regards to unauthorized signs in City right of way and was given direction to remove these
signs.
Upon further consideration, I am asking for clarification on some signs that are in City right
of way. I specifically want guidance reference realtor signs, Parade of Homes signs, garage
sale signs, Chamber 4th of July signs, Sherburne County Fair signs, demo derby signs, and
other signs that appear in City right of way on a regular basis.
I have directed police staff to remove all signs that appear on power poles.
Please discuss this issue and advise me how the police department should proceed with the
signs in question mentioned above. If you have any questions, give me a call.
