Action Requested
Council motion approving a special event permit to Salk Middle School for 5K walk/run scheduled for
May 15, 2010 with the following conditions:
1. Applicant shall be responsible for garbage clean-up.
2. Salk Middle School shall designate race marshals to monitor the race route and participants.
Background/Discussion
Salk Middle School is requesting to host a 5K walk/run on May 15, 2010. Below is a synopsis of the
request:
The 5K run/walk will begin and end at Salk Middle School.
The event begins at 8 a.m. and goes until noon. The run begins at 9 a.m.
The event is open to all Salk Middle School students and their families and friends. Salk is
expecting approximately 300 participants, volunteers, and spectators.
The city is in receipt of a certificate of insurance in excess of $1 million as required by city ordinance.
