SUBJECT: Public Flood Risk Information Open House
In partnership with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (MN DNR), the
Federal Emergency Management Agency(FEMA) Region V office recently scheduled a
public Flood Risk Information Open House for communities in Sherburne County. The
purpose of the Open House is to present updated flood risk data and provide information to
the City Council and other local officials, as well as Sherburne County citizens.
Two meetings have been scheduled fox Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at the Sherburne History
Center, 10775 27~' Ave SE, Becker. The first will be from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m and is geared
towards local elected officials and staff. The second meeting will be from 4:30 p.m. to 7:00
p.m. and will be geared towards the public to talk one-on-one to FEMA and/or the MN
DNR.
A press release has been sent to the Elk River Star News and a flyer has been placed in the
City's display case. The Lake Orono Improvement Association has also informed its
members.
