Action Requested
Request authorization to contract for replacement of roofs and a garage door at the Orono softball
complex.
Background/Discussion
There are four buildings at the Orono softball complex/Kuss Field. The roof shingles are 25 years old,
badly curled, and in need of replacement. The garage door for the field maintenance building is damaged
and no longer opens. Staff solicited three quotes for replacement of the roofs and garage door:
Elk River Exteriors, 825 Main St. Elk River $21,030
The Chuba Company, 19276 Vernon St. Elk River $19,350
Timber Top Roofing, 20760 Quincy St. Elk River $18,395
Staff is requesting authorization to contract with the low quote, Timber Top Roofing at a cost of $18,395.
Financial Impact
When the Elk River Softball Association disbanded, they contributed their fund balance of $13,000 to the
city for facility maintenance.
$5,395 from Park Improvement Fund
$13.000 from Elk River Softball Association contribution
$18,395 Total
