Informational Meeting on Mosquito Control
The Elk River City Council considered possible options for mosquito control at their
regular meeting on June 4, 2001. These options included: the city purchasing its own
mosquito control equipment, looking into belonging to the Metropolitan Mosquito
Control District, and hiring a private contractor. The Council decided to hold an
informational meeting on this subject to further consider this issue.
Mike McLean of the Metropolitan Mosquito Control District will be at Monday
night's meeting to speak to the Council. Paul Moore of Moore's Ag. Center, a private
mosquito control contractor, has also graciously agreed to be in attendance at this
meeting to speak with the Coun..cil.
This meeting is meant to gather additional information. It was not advertised as a
public hearing. The Council can take or not take public comments as they desire.
This portion of Monday night's meeting will be tape and aired on cable television.
