Meeting Schedule
ITEM 6.8.
We need to begin looking at our winter/spring meeting schedule in order to
plan for public hearings and special meetings. Everyone should bring their
calendar to this Council meeting so that we can avoid setting up meetings
where Councilmembers cannot be present. Attached for your review is a copy
of the January through April calendar.
The City Council has already scheduled the January and February holiday
CIP worksessions, although we would like to firm up the starting time of
these meetings. The Council has also already established the Volunteer
Appreciation Dinner date for Tuesday, February 13, 1996.
One meeting that can be discussed on the January 15 CIP meeting is the
informational meeting for the Riverview Heights area to discuss public
improvements including municipal utilities and the reconstruction of streets.
Another date that can be discussed at the January 15 CIP meeting is the
public informational meeting on an East Highway 10 public improvement
(trunk sewer and water and storm sewer) project.
A very important date that needs to be considered is the public hearing date
to consider the Master Park and Recreation Plan and the Long Range
Transportation Plan. This date had been tentatively set for February 26,
1996, however, the Mayor is not available on that date. Additionally, the city
engineer, who must be at that meeting, is not available the week of March 4.
The Planning Commission is scheduled to have its public hearing on these
two issues in mid-February. We may want to consider a special meeting for
Wednesday, February 28 for this public hearing.
Joint Council meetings typically take place in the winter and spring with the
School Board, County Board, Park and Recreation Commission, Planning
Commission and Utilities Commission. I would like suggested dates from the
Council to begin scheduling these joint meetings.
