Action Requested
Council approval of retail fireworks license renewal for Coborn's Incorporated in Elk River. Renewals are
valid for one year from the date of approval. The Fire Marshal has asked that all retail firework licenses be
approved with the following two conditions:
1. TWO (2) FIRE EXTINGUISHERS MUST BE PLACED NEAR THE AREA OF THE
FIREWORKS DISPLAY. ONE (1) EXTINGUISHER MUST BE A WATER-BASED
PRESSURIZED EXTINGUISHER.
2. FIRE DEPARTMENT MUST CONDUCT AN INSPECTION OF THE FIREWORK
DISPLAY PRIOR TO FIREWORK SALES. THE APPLICANT IS RESPONSIBLE
FOR CONTACTING THE FIRE MARSHAL AT 763.635.1110 TO SCHEDULE AN
INSPECTION.
Background/Discussion
Coborn's is requesting renewal of their retail fireworks license. The applicant has submitted all the
necessary application materials and successfully cleared a police department background check.
