Re; Burandt Proposal related to the Tyler 1193rd Avenue Intersection
Ms, Johnson
As requested by the City Council at their April 5, X010 meeting 1 have investigated the possibilities of moving
ahead with the proposal presented at the February 16~` City Council meeting by Mr, David Burandt. 1 met with
Mr, Burandt at the site to review the limits of construction needed to affect the changes he suggested in his
proposal, Mr, Burandt had set stakes in the ground indicating the extent of where he would allow the grading to
take place on his property. The stakes he showed to me were located at most S feet south of his fence line, well
short of the space needed to accomplish the grading he suggests in his proposal, In discussing this with him 1
asked if he had changed his mind on allowing the City to proceed with this change. Mr. Burandt told me that he
felt that the proposed changes to the stop sign and stop bar location would be adequate and he felt that the grading
he had earlier suggested would not be needed. ~ subsequently discussed this with Mr, Burandt on April 14 in a
telephone conversation to confirm that he is not interested in proceeding, He again confirmed to me that he has in
fact changed his mind.
At this point, without access to the Burandt property, we are limited to the existing Right of way owned by the
City, This being the case, it is not possible to proceed with arranging for the work outlined in the Burandt
proposal. with the modification to the stop sign and stop bar approved by the Council the intersection will have
necessary sight distance required by ASTHC~ design criteria. Please let me know if you or the Council require
additional follow up on this issue
