Consider Request to Replace ~/~VTP Roof on the U.V. Building
The U.V. building was erected in 1994. The roof of the building has a rubber membrane that
has started to leak along a seam that runs the entire perimeter of the roof. The company that
installed the roof is no longer in business so the warranty on the roof is worthless. N.W.
Waterproofing, currently onsite working on the ventilation project, quoted me $3,500 to
repair the roof and $5,900 to replace the entire membrane.
I recommend that the entire membrane be replaced rather than repaired. There would be no
warranty on the repair but there would be a warranty on the replacement. There appears to
be no other damage to the roof but this can't be verified until the old membrane is removed.
Recommendation
Council motion to have N.W. Waterproofing replace the roof of the U.V. building at a cost
of $5,900.
