Action Requested
Approval of a special event permit and a temporary on-sale liquor license to the Elk River Eagles Club
fox Saturday, June 5, 2010 with the following conditions:
1. The liquor license is not valid until approved by the Commissioner of Public Safety.
2. Event must be held in an area that is fenced in with secured and controlled access and be
compact and contiguous to the licensed establishment.
3. Certificate of insurance shall be filed with the city listing the city as an additional insured.
Background/Discussion
The Elk Rivex Eagles Club is requesting approval fox a special event on Saturday, June 5, 2010, from 2:00
p.m. until midnight. The Eagles will be having an auction and music as a fundraiser for the Independence
Day fireworks. They would like to serve alcohol to members and guests outside their establishment in the
parking lot. State law allows for these types of events as long as the area is compact and contiguous to the
licensed establishment. The area must be fenced, have secure and controlled access, and be covered by
liquor liability insurance.
